Uhh, I’m back…? XD I’m putting a lot of time in my domain blog which is resulting to massive backlog here. I’ll do my best to resume posting and in a faster pace. 😀 And soooo… Here’s my first eyeliner review.
That’s my second UD Glide-On Eye Pencil. Honestly, it’s not even my favorite nor can I say I love it. Read on further to find out why.
Back in college I tried to use eyeliners then gave up eventually because of the raccoon eyes I ended up with most of the time. I already had dark circles around my eyes to begin with. College, you know. There wasn’t a need to accentuate those dark circles. Not like I wanted to. >_> Now I know after learning more about makeup that I just had eyeliners that didn’t work for me. I began using eye liners again since last year and I ♥ it! Now I think I can skip the eyeshadow, but the eyeliner plus mascara are essential. 😀
Zero is a permanent (and old) shade out of many eye pencils of Urban Decay. It is quite popular as much as the whole UD eye pencil line. Zero has some shimmers and is not a pure deep black. Its lead is soft which makes for easy application of solid or smudged finish. It stays put for 16 hours at most. No raccoon eyes at all. With my oily lids!
I went on a Manila Postal Heritage Tour last year. Since it was a hot sunny day and the tour was from morning until early afternoon, I had this on to see how it will put up on such conditions. I had no time to check myself in the mirror during the entire tour. I thought my eyeliner was already a mess after a few hours under the sun and heat. My only assurance that wasn’t the case was that my friend didn’t say anything. Hours and several rides later, I checked myself in the mirror and it was still the same as when I applied it. 😀 But I think I also need to put credit on the eye primer and eyeshadows I used then.
Though I don’t get raccoon eyes, it transfers or stains on the crease of my right eye. I have monolid right eye. That’s one of my challenges now — Finding an eyeliner that will not transfer/stain. Given its staying power, this is one stubborn liner. I tried eye makeup removers from Estee Lauder and Maybelline. Many wipes with both is needed to completely remove it. Also, even though the liner’s soft lead can be an advantage, its downside is the need to sharpen regularly. It gets blunt per use.
I suppose you understand why I have mixed feelings for this. Good longevity, but transfers/stains for monolids. Soft lead that prevents dragging eyelids when applying, but you also need a sharpener when you bring it out. That’s kind of a hassle for me.
In spite the pros, I don’t think I will repurchase it especially when I have more of other brands in stock. They’re waiting to be used. 😀 The other eye liner I currently use too is from Estee Lauder which I prefer over this UD pencil. If you’re wondering why I have a second pencil — The first pencil comes with the Alice in Wonderland palette. Then last year, I grabbed a UD Triple Threat Travel Pencil Set:
One of my several beauty buys from last year’s trip. (I really have to blog about my beauty loot in spite being very very delayed.) I was almost running out of eyeliners and I didn’t have much time to look for an alternative. Seeing so much beauty products makes you forget what you really need. LOL So, I just grabbed that. It was also near the cashier. There are two other shades even so it’s cool. They only need to be used already. 😛
Urban Decay is not available locally (I wish it does!). Some online sellers do have it. I wish I could recommend you to one, but with Multiply gone, Sephora is my only source.
