Tony Moly Expert Triple BB Cream

I’m pretty much a BB cream newbie. I’ve only tried Etude House Magic BB Cream (I should do a review on this one since I use it regularly) and I find it pretty good although lacking in coverage. This review is not about that particular BB cream. It’s about the sample BB cream I won from Lizz Buenaventura.

For those not in the know, BB creams aka blemish balms are the latest craze in Asia. They are multi-functional skincare products which can moisturize, soothe, heal, cover and protect the face. Some BB creams offer sun protection and whitening properties too. It is used like a moisturizer but sometimes I just use it as base and then apply foundation over it.

So one of the prizes I won is a sampler of Tony Moly Expert Triple BB Cream. Long name I know. It has whitening, wrinkle care, and SPF 45. I noticed that it’s darker than Etude House’s BB Cream. It’s quite oily too which might further worsen my combination skin which tends to become oilier throughout the day.

Left side of the face has BB cream, Right is makeup-free

As you can see in the photo above, the difference between the right and left sides of my face is dramatic (Please ignore the messy hair). Even my eyes look different. Tony Moly provides fair coverage but I think it’s more suited for those who have dry skin.

I don’t know if there are stores here which sell Tony Moly products but you can try ebay.ph or multiply.com.

That gives a nice coverage. But if it’s suited for dry skin, then that might not work for me. My skin tends to get oily and terribly when it’s hot. DX

You didn’t have any (even light) breakouts?

It’s not for me either. I think prolonged use of this will make me breakout.

Hi there! I’ve been taking interest in Korean cosmetic brands for a few months now, but I’ve particularly come to love Etude House. My friend mentioned to me just recently another brand which is not yet available in the Philippines, Tony Moly. I browsed the internet to get more info about the brand and I stumbled upon your blog.:) Can you tell me more about it? Is it a good brand that it would be a hit if ever it becomes available here in the Philippines?;)Thanks in advance!:)

I tried a sampler of Tony Moly. It didn’t suit my skin because it made me oilier. If you have dry skin, maybe the product will be good for you. I hope this helps!

tried this product and i thought the coverage was not great, so i had to add a bit of powder. after i washed my face i noticed my skin had more even skin tone and was softer. generally i have dry skin and i found this product absorbed nicely and was not oily on my skin type.
