The Body Shop Dusty Rose Lip and Cheek Stain

The Body Shop’s Lip and Cheek Stain is one of my purchases from last month. I find myself very much into lip and cheek stains or tints recently. I think I got hooked after I bought this.

I have the shade Dusty Rose (037). As the shade name implies, the color _is_ a dusty rose or mauve pink. I chose this out of five other shades because, for my skin tone, I thought it would give a light pink color on my cheeks.

There’s 7.5ml of product in the small bottle, which I think will last quite a while. Most likely if you use it only on the cheeks. On the lips, I’m sure there would be the need to reapply once or twice or more in a day.

It has a doe foot applicator.

I thought I got a dud with the build up and solid bits on the applicator when I first opened it. There’s less of it now, so that probably happens when it’s freshly opened. Here are swatches:

I do 3 swipes on each cheek, lightly rub, and pat to my desired intensity. I sometimes put more if I still find it too pale on my cheeks. The more intensified the color, I find that it lasts longer than 8 hours without drying or making my cheeks oily. It also doesn’t accentuate pores. On my hand, I did only about two. As you can see, you can already get a nice flush of color with that much.

I was afraid of using stains or tints on my cheeks because I might eff up and look like a clown. But they’re actually easy to work with including this one and they give a more natural finish than the powder type. That doesn’t mean I don’t like powders anymore though. I’m just really into stains or tints now. 馃檪

I have tried this once on my lips and it dried quickly in less than an hour. My lips didn’t become dry, but the stain dried and settled into little bits on my lips. Maybe I need to top it with a clear balm, but I find that defeats the purpose of it being a dual-purpose product. I have lots of lip products anyway, so I might just skip using this as a lip stain.

The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stains are PhP595 each, which is a good price for its use. It did not work as a lip stain for me, but I would still recommend it for the cheeks. I have combination oily skin btw and this stayed on impressively.

There are five other shades. I’ll probably get Pink Hibiscus next time. 馃檪

I believe there’s an on-going sale, so it might be a good time to grab one or two. 馃槈
