This has been my go-to makeup look last month. It’s quick and easy with only few products to use. 🙂
I call this look “Shabby Chic” because of the lip color. ☺ Excuse the pimple and tiny bumps btw because my face went through purging.

This was my makeup for New Year’s.
The family and I only stayed home, so it seemed this was too much. But I wanted to play with makeup. 😛 I also missed wearing my Mac Sin.
Hello, lovelies! We are finally doing monthly favorites. This has been a long time coming. 🙂
Joiz’s September Favorites
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Seduction
The Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor range is one of the good liquid lipsticks in the drugstore imo. No surprise that Joiz likes it as well, specifically Seduction that she uses for her everyday or work makeup look.
It all started with the The Body Shop’s Dusty Rose Lip and Cheek Stain. There’s nothing like having natural-looking pink flushed cheeks to brighten my face and make me look more awake (especially during long hours at work!). Then when I was persuaded to stay for a night in Shangri-La Fort because it was already late when I got done with gym, I only had my mascara, powder, concealer, and Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain Honey to use. My face looked flat and pale, but the Balm Stain really gave my face the ‘life’ it needed. My liking for pinks have rekindled. 🙂
my birth monththis month started, I switched up my makeup with more pinks–Mostly lippies that are great for either day or evening looks. I haven’t thoroughly checked my collection, but these are my picks so far:
July has passed and I wasn’t able to review the rest of the makeup I was using then. But, actually, only the foundation and concealer are left, both of which I still use. They could still be part of my August makeup routine because I ♥ them both! In order of how I put them on, I’ll begin the reviews with foundation then concealer.
Maybelline Fit Me! Matte+Poreless Foundation 130 Buff Beige
This drugstore foundation has very good reviews and has been highly recommended for those with oily combination skin.
I don’t think I have any cons, but only pros on this drugstore foundation.
- Truly matte with medium to heavy coverage
- Eight-hour longevity and sometimes longer before any shininess peers through
- Easy to blend (with fingers)
My day or work lipstick for this month is Maybelline’s Color Sensational Creamy Matte in Touch of Spice. It is a matte deep brown-y pink shade, though looks mauve pink in the tube, that was highly coveted when it was first released here. I didn’t even get to see many of the Color Sensational Creamy Mattes range. Maybe Maybelline had too few stocks per store, people hoarded, or I was just too late to the party. LOL!
For a change, I’ll start with the cons.
I only wanted to check the NYX stall in SM Makati, but ended up buying and even two more items.
My oily skin issue is getting worse… And I blame the weather! I still like my CoverGirl foundation, but I thought I would switch for now with the Maybelline FitMe! Matte+Poreless Foundation.
My first impressions:
- I thought it was a pump foundation, but it’s like the L’Oreal foundation I used. No biggie because there are times I prefer this over a pump.
- Coverage is light to medium and buildable.
- Yellow-toned, which is great for those with warm undertones. Though I think I fall under olive undertone, this is still good match for me.
