My office had its annual outing a couple of weekends ago. I was in charge of our itinerary, so I planned visits to an underground cemetery, spring water falls, a man-made lake, and an organic farm. Details of the outing will be in my blog. Instead, let me show you the makeup I brought.
This has been my go-to makeup look last month. It’s quick and easy with only few products to use. 🙂
I call this look “Shabby Chic” because of the lip color. ☺ Excuse the pimple and tiny bumps btw because my face went through purging.

It’s another month, another year and as usual, here are our favorites. Well, Shabby’s and mine at the least. 😉 Let’s start on Shabby’s list with the…
This was my makeup for New Year’s.
The family and I only stayed home, so it seemed this was too much. But I wanted to play with makeup. 😛 I also missed wearing my Mac Sin.
All these years wearing makeup, I never used a primer until recently. I want to make my makeup last longer and prevent oiliness for at least 6 hours. The weather and office conditions make my face produce more oil than it usually does. 😕 I consulted Google and found two options including this primer I’m about to review.
I would consider my other option in spite its high price tag, but I remembered I had a tester of the original Laura Mercier Foundation Primer. So I took that out, tried it, and was very impressed how it made my makeup look.
A collective post on my loot from third quarter this year to present. There are some I couldn’t find photos I took of, so I didn’t include them here. I don’t want to retake because I don’t remember when I bought them should I remember which ones they are from my makeup stuff. Anyway, I added my initial impressions per product below.
Benefit Rockitude! – I only wanted the Benetint, but I saw this and thought this was such a good deal. I get to try the High Beam too!
Benefit Porefessional – This great for travel since, for a face powder, it comes with a brush instead of a puff.
Continuing with the monthly tradition, here we have our favorites for October! Let’s start off with my partner in crime…
It all started with the The Body Shop’s Dusty Rose Lip and Cheek Stain. There’s nothing like having natural-looking pink flushed cheeks to brighten my face and make me look more awake (especially during long hours at work!). Then when I was persuaded to stay for a night in Shangri-La Fort because it was already late when I got done with gym, I only had my mascara, powder, concealer, and Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain Honey to use. My face looked flat and pale, but the Balm Stain really gave my face the ‘life’ it needed. My liking for pinks have rekindled. 🙂
my birth monththis month started, I switched up my makeup with more pinks–Mostly lippies that are great for either day or evening looks. I haven’t thoroughly checked my collection, but these are my picks so far:
Among my high-end blushes, Laura Mercier’s Second Cheek Color is my most favorite. The blush is velvety-soft, easy to apply as it goes on smoothly and evenly on my cheeks–it’s hard to go wrong with it– and buildable without looking cakey.
I own two shades so far, but Barely Pink is the one I use often. It’s a pale pink that truly brightens my cheeks. It stays true to color almost whole day on me. 🙂
