Surviving Sunburn

I’ve finally decided that I get sunburns when the Sun is covered by clouds, and you are tricked into thinking you don’t need as much sunscreen on you.

Last Friday, I got nasty sunburns (again) on my shoulders and half of my back, and as I’ve said on all my social networks: it is slightly more soothing to stay naked than trying to get your sunburnt self into clothes.

Sun-kissed or Sun-slobbered? I am so dark … and red!

If you want to prevent sunburns from ever occuring, you might want to check out Shabby’s post last year about sunscreen lotions. I know I’m supposed to use sunscreen and I do, I really do–but I usually focus on my face and arms and I constantly forget to put any on my back (unless someone reminds me and does it for me). I can always just stay under a cold shower to relieve the sting but being a busy bee that I am, I have to rely on another solution. Thankfully, we have this magnificent product in the market:

The Banana Boat Soothing Aloe After Sun Gel

Banana Boat Aloe After Sun Gel gives you the cooling and soothing after sun relief your sun-drenched skin needs. It is specially formulated with pure (plus stabilizers and required preservatives) aloe vera extract. This soothing gel hydrates your skin, replenishes its moisture and also softens skin to help prevent it from peeling.

To others a tube of this might be quite pricey (the 90 mL tube is worth Php 125) but I’d pay anything for the relief this brings. I haven’t seen a bigger tube in local stores so I’m not sure about their availability. But I’ve seen bigger variants online, and there is also a spray on variant and After Sun Lotion.

I don’t think I will ever survive sunburns without this gel. So if you’re like me who’s very easily burnt, even without the visible presence of the Sun, and you’re always on the go, I recommend you try Banana Boat After Sun Gel.

Speaking of which, yesterday was said to be the second hottest day so far this year. And to think we were basking in the sun for a good part of the day.
