Physicians Formula Mineral Loose Powder

I have heard of Physicians Formula way back, but haven’t tried any of their products until now. Thanks to Tamera Online for giving us, Glam Love ladies, the privilege to be able to try a Physicians Formula product. 🙂 I have to apologize though since gratitude and product review took a while. The mineral loose powder arrived at my family’s house while I was in the US. I don’t think I would have gotten the powder too without the help of Jan. At the moment, I still haven’t returned to my room. ^^;;;

It’s the first time I used a loose powder and mineral at that.

This Mineral Wear by Physicians Formula is SPF-16 (first of all my face powders that has SPF!), talc-free, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and oil-free. It is for sensitive and/or breakout-prone skin. I got the translucent light that looks a little lighter than my skin tone, but it actually blends well. It didn’t clog my pores and didn’t cause my skin to breakout. I have a slightly sensitive nose and some makeup can trigger it. This didn’t. It truly is fragrance-free.

What I love about this loose powder is it keeps my face looking fresh and oil-free. I’m not sure if it’s because my skin is better with the recent rainy & chilly weather in the Philippines, but it does control the oiliness of my skin. This does give a natural finish especially after I apply bb cream and concealer. I find this far better than my Missha Finish Pressed Powder..

The case is made of seemingly sturdy clear plastic. I brought this a few times to work in my almost always full backpack. It didn’t get any cracks. (Maybe I’m just too organized in my bag. LOL) But this powder isn’t the kind you can just throw in your bag. The jar cap can be easily removed. When this jar does acrobatics (LOL!) in your bag, the brush can get misplaced. The sifter lid, claimed to be mess-free, may only be opened by pulling the sifter lid tab so I guess there’s no problem with that. Just make sure the sifter doesn’t have too many powder left on. In case a disaster happens, then it won’t get poweder-y messy. 😛

So mine expires in a few months, but I don’t think this will be empty by then because I switch powders everyday. I’ll still probably use this a little more after the expiration. *hides* XD

The cover being its only downside, I still recommend this mineral powder for those with skin type same as mine — oily to combination. For those with sensitive skin, I say give this product a try. 🙂 I think mineral face powders really does work for that skin type anyway.

Physicians Formula’s Mineral Wear is available in Tamera Online for $14 (or PhP616.65 as of date). Shades to choose from are buff beige, sand beige, translucent light, and translucent medium.

Tamera Online is a beauty product online store based in the Philippines.
