Garnier Oil Clear Pore Tightening and Anti-Shine Astringent

Obviously, I failed the ten-post challenge. ^^;;; I even prepared photos of products for review, yet I couldn’t blog in the past week because I was very busy and exhausted. But that doesn’t mean I won’t do it anymore. 😛

Anyway, I’ll be reviewing now this cheap but effective toner:

I got interested in Garnier after I tried their Light Complete Multi-Action Whitening Cream. Thanks to Netbooster Asia and Garnier, I got more Garnier products to try including the Oil Clear Astringent. 🙂 I was very happy when I received this as I need anything that would control the oiliness of my t-zone.

Garnier OilClear 002v2

I started using this on the first week of April. I apply twice a day as part of my skincare routine in the morning and night. It further cleanses my skin and makes my face feel ‘fresher.’

Garnier OilClear 003v2

Garnier’s product claim is:

“Enriched with sebum regulating zinc mineral, Garnier Oil Clear Pore Tightening Astringent acts to tighten the pores, dry out imperfections, and unify your skin.”

I’m unsure what “unify you’re skin” means. Though, I can say that it effectively dries out imperfections. Whenever I would have a pimple or two, it doesn’t worsen and, at times, it heals fast. The toner does tighten the pores and you wouldn’t even feel the tightening as if you want to slab on moisturizer. My pores stay that way for almost the whole day. The toner’s only downside for me is, since it isn’t really oil-free, the t-zone gets oily again after about three hours since application. But it isn’t that bad. Actually, my face looks less shiny in pictures now.

I will repurchase this toner as it does its job of tightening pores. The 150mL bottle is just cheap at about PhP170 which even takes quite a while to consume. It’s been four months since I started using it and I’m just at 1/4 of the bottle. I recommend this for those with normal skin and combination as long as you have another way for oil control. A reminder for those with sensitive skin — Make sure to test on a small area first. 🙂

Garnier is available locally at The Landmark, Watsons, and SM. For more Garnier products, please see their Facebook page — https://www.facebook.com/takecaregarnier.
