Clinique Cream Shaper for Eyes

Upon the start of the month, per usual, I switched makeup for my daily/office look. There are a couple of new items in my July makeup routine. I’ll review them individually and in no specific order starting with an eye makeup. 🙂

Clinique Cream Shaper™ For Eyes in Egyptian

What I really wanted was the Clinique Quickliner™ For Eyes. When Clinique gave me a night look makeover, I was able to try the Quickliner for Eyes. I was afraid I would have panda eyes since I have oily lids, but the Quickliner stayed put. I fell in love with it! I could make a precise line or slightly smudged with its smudge tool (the Quickliner is dual-ended). I set aside a budget and returned days later to get one for myself.

Before I go on, I’ll already admit that it was my fault I got a different eyeliner. 😐

Yep, this was bought at Rustan's.

Yep, this was bought at Rustan’s.

I asked for an eyeliner thinking Quickliner was the only one they had. The attendant gave me the Clinique Cream Shaper For Eyes. Since I didn’t see the former at the stall, I thought it was out of stock. I didn’t even ask. Ugh. But I still went ahead and bought the Cream Shaper because I was embarrassed and couldn’t decline in buying. I hate it when my time is wasted for nothing, so I hate to do that to others too.

That embarrassment cost me slightly more than PhP1000.

I always find it difficult to say no in that sort of situation. But, lesson learned. I do still have difficulty saying no, yet I constantly remind myself that it feels better to not spend on something I’m uncertain with. Also, declining is always an option when shopping. XD

So, that’s the background of this eyeliner purchase. 😛

But! The purchase turned out to be quite a good one. Besides that I fell in love with the shade (because it’s green), the eyeliner is also smudge-proof, transfer-resistant, and has amazing staying power!

The eyeliner glides on smoothly and doesn’t tug my lids. The pencil is a bit creamy, which makes it easy to sharpen, but it’s not so soft that it quickly gets blunt like other soft eyeliners I’ve used. In spite its staying power, it’s not too difficult to remove or wash off with an eye makeup remover.

This is also safe for contact lens wearers like me. It’s also water-proof because I was able to test with eye-drops. My eyes dry at times when I have my contact lens on.

Egyptian’s finish is opaque; may be intensified to a darker green and for a more visible gold shimmer. I love the gold flecks because it gives life to the eyes. 🙂 If you’re not a fan of green, there are two other available shades — Chocolate Lustre and Black Diamond. Each has microshimmers too.

If you have oily lids, I highly recommend trying out the Clinique Cream Shaper for Eyes. Get one or get them all! 😀
