Last August 17, I tagged along Shabby to this Rustan’s Beauty Addict Beautiful You convention in Makati. In all honesty, I came for the drinks (haha!) and checking the goods was second priority. At some point that night, I ended up in Chanel, swatching their Rouge Allure Ink Matte Liquid Lip Colour, boy oh boy, I fell in love with one particular shade: 154 Experimente.
February is usually associated with Love and the color red. So here is Shabby with our pick of red lipsticks to give you ideas to help you get that bold, timeless look you need for this Love Month. Rawr =^-^= <3
It’s another month, another year and as usual, here are our favorites. Well, Shabby’s and mine at the least. 😉 Let’s start on Shabby’s list with the…
I wanted to publish this before the Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder, but I remembered I haven’t edited this post. 😆
A subtle pop of dewy color for lips and cheeks. Our nourishing tint with safflower, jojoba and sunflower seed oils feels luscious yet lightweight. Fluid-gel formula slips on with ease thanks to a convenient wand applicator that delivers the perfect amount every time. Shake well before applying.
My lips get very dry and flaky after a few days of regular or liquid lipsticks use, so I would eventually need to use lip balms for a few days. But I dislike how my lips look without color and my tinted lip balms dry it too. So when I discovered the Clinique Pop Oil Lip & Cheek Glow in Black Honey, I became a lip oil convert.
Better late than never. 😆
The holiday season is the busiest time of the year. Not only with the Christmas rush of gift shopping and/or get-togethers, but work deadlines too, which is difficult when you’re already feeling the holidays. I didn’t get to switch beauty and skin care products when December came because I was very busy to bother. Besides, almost everything I used in November I ended up liking so much that I didn’t want to switch yet. Even so, there are only a few that I really loved and would consider favorites. I think the same goes for Joiz. 🙂 I’ll begin with hers.
Rouge Dior 787 Exuberant is one of the updated Rouge Dior line, which has 57 shades (per the Dior website). This is description in the website:
With Rouge Dior and its cult formula of 16h* comfort, women feel good, no matter the colour, no matter the finish satin or matte.
A palete of colours with iconic reds, vibrant corals, passionate pink, romantic rosewoods and extreme and surpising matte shades.
True object of desire, Rouge Dior comes with a new metallic couture case crafted with secret little details : for a touch of personal luxury, the inside of each cap is attired in the Rouge 999 shade, Dior’s flamobayantly sexy signature.
Traditionally matte lipsticks tend to either be too shiny or too powdery that they’re likely to cake, crack and dry out my lips. And usually the good kind of matte are found under high-end brands which cost an arm and leg to purchase. Enter a new generation of affordable matte lipstick: Avon Perfectly Matte Lipstick.
Yay, it’s already Friday! I’ve been looking forward to the weekend because of my recent sleep troubles. I want to get a long shut-eye. Gotta work, work, work, so this day will go fast. 😀
attemptget to work, here’s a quick post on another lipstick I’ve been using for a couple of months now as my after-work or night time look. It’s not just a July pick.
I have been waiting for the local Clinique stores to have the Clinique Pop™ Oil Lip & Cheek Glow. I didn’t even know that Black Honey is among the shades. It was good timing that co-blogger Joiz and I was at Clinique (Rustan’s Makati) last weekend for the Lip & Smile event since they just had the Pop Oils in stock for only about a week at the time. The shade I bought was Black Honey Glow.
I’ve used the oil for a few times already since I bought it. Here are my first impressions:
- Consistency is slightly thick (thus its fluid-gel formula), so it takes some effort to get a natural blush finish.
- I love the dewy finish on the cheeks!
- It doesn’t come off sheer on the lips as I thought it would be like the Clinique Superbalm™ Moisturizing Gloss in the same shade.
- It leaves a red stain when the gloss and shine is gone.
I’m really loving the Pop Oil so far that it makes me want to get another one. I’ll get all if I could! 😀
My day or work lipstick for this month is Maybelline’s Color Sensational Creamy Matte in Touch of Spice. It is a matte deep brown-y pink shade, though looks mauve pink in the tube, that was highly coveted when it was first released here. I didn’t even get to see many of the Color Sensational Creamy Mattes range. Maybe Maybelline had too few stocks per store, people hoarded, or I was just too late to the party. LOL!
For a change, I’ll start with the cons.
