I have a couple of Biore sunscreens that I loved, but they eventually irritated my skin. It’s disappointing because they worked so well under makeup and kept my face matte for nearly eight hours. So I had to do another research and discovered through another oily-skin girl the Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel UV SPF50+ PA++++. 🙂
The holiday season is the busiest time of the year. Not only with the Christmas rush of gift shopping and/or get-togethers, but work deadlines too, which is difficult when you’re already feeling the holidays. I didn’t get to switch beauty and skin care products when December came because I was very busy to bother. Besides, almost everything I used in November I ended up liking so much that I didn’t want to switch yet. Even so, there are only a few that I really loved and would consider favorites. I think the same goes for Joiz. 🙂 I’ll begin with hers.
July has passed and I wasn’t able to review the rest of the makeup I was using then. But, actually, only the foundation and concealer are left, both of which I still use. They could still be part of my August makeup routine because I ♥ them both! In order of how I put them on, I’ll begin the reviews with foundation then concealer.
Maybelline Fit Me! Matte+Poreless Foundation 130 Buff Beige
This drugstore foundation has very good reviews and has been highly recommended for those with oily combination skin.
A bottle contains 30ml or 1.0 fl.oz. of product
I don’t think I have any cons, but only pros on this drugstore foundation.
Truly matte with medium to heavy coverage
Eight-hour longevity and sometimes longer before any shininess peers through
Korres is one brand that I so want to love and be a favorite, but that they’re not easily accessible so that makes it impossible. I was on a trip to US at the time they released the Goddess Beauty, which contains several of their makeup. I knew I could get it. I could try several Korres products in one purchase. But I went to a couple of Sephora stores (I remember my mom complaining) and didn’t find it. Then I went to a branch near the hotel I was staying at and found a few. I thought hard whether or not I should get it. I browsed the store twice, but I knew it had taken my heart. LOLOL!
Managed to purchase a Silk Crème Oil-Free Photo Edition Foundation from Laura Mercier this summer, and it is so divine, it’s fast becoming my favorite foundation.
To start off, it is unfortunate this has the same name as an older foundation as it is completely different so there will be comparisons. This foundation leave a matte finish and can maintain a long lasting, smooth, oil-free finish. It promises 12-hour of wear, and it stays on pretty well, but oily areas will definitely begin seeing shine in a couple hours or less, even if powder is applied afterward. That’s not a deal-breaker, just don’t expect this to control oil for half the day.
CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation in Medium Beige
I mentioned many, many times that my T-zone gets super oily and that the oiliness has gotten worse lately. It might be the weather, change of diet since I’m incorporating healthier choices, or skin care products though I use the same. As much as I liked the L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup foundation, at some point, it started to just settle on my face and I would unknowingly get some on my fingers. I found out when I left a streak of foundation on a work document. I can’t even touch my face out of fear that I might transfer on other important stuff. Good thing I almost emptied the bottle, so I had a valid excuse to buy. I searched for foundations recommended for oily skin and saw CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation in an online list of ‘best foundations for oily skin.’
