Here’s another affordable — from Daiso — makeup review. This is an okay choice if you don’t want to spend too much for a brow product or for ‘beauty emergencies’ like you ran out and can’t afford yet your HG. 😆
I love high-end (and some luxury) products, but I also like some affordable and very cheap ones. By very cheap, I mean Daiso-cheap makeup. For some reason, I always find myself buying eyebrow products from them.
Daiso is a 100-yen shop, similar to a dollar store, that has a lot homeware, kitchenware, stationery, bath, and makeup items. Their products are usually priced at PhP88. Some go as low as PhP22 and high as PhP288. Daiso has a lot of makeup that you can do a full face with. Though not all are “Made in Japan,” which I prefer from them. I try not to be picky, but I need to careful with what I put on my face because it’s difficult and more expensive to deal with skin irritation and breakouts.
Upon the start of the month, per usual, I switched makeup for my daily/office look. There are a couple of new items in my July makeup routine. I’ll review them individually and in no specific order starting with an eye makeup. 🙂
Korres is one brand that I so want to love and be a favorite, but that they’re not easily accessible so that makes it impossible. I was on a trip to US at the time they released the Goddess Beauty, which contains several of their makeup. I knew I could get it. I could try several Korres products in one purchase. But I went to a couple of Sephora stores (I remember my mom complaining) and didn’t find it. Then I went to a branch near the hotel I was staying at and found a few. I thought hard whether or not I should get it. I browsed the store twice, but I knew it had taken my heart. LOLOL!
Normally, I stick to one palette for a month then move on to another by next because I have so many! I meant to use only the Laura Mercier Holiday 2013 Palette for this month, but I can’t keep myself from also using In theBalm of Your Hand.
When I saw the palette online, I knew I had to have it because it has Mary-Lou Manizer, Bahama Mama, and an Instain blush. Oh my goodness, I so badly wanted it! I made sure I had the dough before I checked Beauty Bar though, so I can quickly purchase it in case they have it. Of course it was a happy ending for moi. 😀
Before I go on my review, just an fyi that the lip colors aren’t included in this review.
My previous mascara was Maybelline’s The Hyper Curl Mascara. Regardless of sweat and my oily face, it stays put without smudging or flaking. It did get flaky eventually, but might be because it has gotten dry and needs to be replaced. I would get another of it because we all know how it’s so easy on the wallet, right? But I want another option (and probably better) that can resist this summer heat.
I ended up at the L’Oreal stall at SM Makati’s (HUGE) beauty section as I searched for a mascara. L’Oreal had items discounted at 20%, but the mascara I found and then bought was 50% off. 🙂 It’s the False Lash Butterfly Waterproof Mascara.
A few months ago, I ran out of eyeliner and there was an event I had to be in which needed me to have eyeliner that was waterproof. So I ended up looking for a cheap waterproof eyeliner on the fly.
Unfortunately, if I wanted it cheap, my selections aren’t very promising… Until I found Isehan Heroine Make KissMe Eyeliner.
I love my two shades of Maybelline 24HR Color Tattoo. They are the (25) Bad to the Bronze and (80) Creamy Beige. I find myself being able to do my eye makeup faster when I use them for the reason that probably I have more application control. I actually use my fingers. I tried using a brush and it was a big fail. I couldn’t get any color on my lids.
I only got to look closer at the covers of these today. The differences are, besides the obvious labels, the Bad to the Bronze shade has ‘Gel-Cream Eyeshadow’ written on it, while the other is ‘Leather by EYESTUDIO.’ Also, the former is made in China while the latter is in USA.
I’m glad I was able to unwind after a
boring day at work with a couple of my girls from high school even for a while. I was late for their Christmas gifts shopping, so I was only in time for dindins which is better than missing the opportunity to hang out with them. 🙂 I had a cup of Joe to go thereafter, so now I’m in a good mood to getting my Maybelline The Hyper Curl Mascara review done. 😉 This was meant to be my last post while I was in Bangladesh, but besides being a tourist and watching CNN and National Geographic, I just lazed around at my parents’ house. XD;
The Maybelline The Hyper Curl Mascara is from my emergency buys months ago. I already used a Maybelline mascara before, so I didn’t think twice for purchasing this. Not to mention, it’s very affordable price of PhP199!
